The University of Cincinnati is an R1 institution, based on the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education used for more than four decades.

That means UC is engaged in research at the highest level in the United States—and we only do that because of our researchers.

That’s why we celebrated them, and their hard work, at the Sponsored Research reception held on Jan. 29. Our three and four-time winners got a shout out in January but here are some photos from the event. Thanks to all who came!

Provost Kristi A. Nelson addresses some of UC's brightest researchers and professors, encouraging them to remember that Next Lives Here—UC’s strategic direction—is about creating an impact that changes lives and the world's trajectory. “It outlines a vision to revolutionize how we teach, conduct research, provide healthcare and serve others,” Nelson said.  Photo credit: Quinn Villarreal, UC Creative + Brand
